Excess Earth Connection

An excess earth connection refers to a situation where there is more than the necessary or intended number of grounding (earth) connections in an electrical system. Grounding is crucial for safety, as it provides a path for electrical current to safely dissipate in the event of a fault.

Ground Loop Noise

Ground Loop Noise occurs when there are multiple grounding points with different electrical potentials in an audio or electrical system. This difference in potential creates unintended current flow through the ground connections, which can introduce a low-frequency hum or buzz, commonly heard in audio equipment.
